A man was injured by an explosion Sunday morning after stepping on one of several booby traps protecting a large marijuana growing operation in Detroit, according to authorities.

Police and bomb squad personnel were on the scene for hours, and at least six potentially explosive devices were found at the home.

Police say the homeowner set up the "homemade minefield" around his house to protect his marijuana growing operation.

A 28-year-old man apparently tripped the explosive Sunday morning and injured his legs while walking in the vacant field on the city’s west side.

The victim has multiple wounds on his legs, none of which are life-threatening.

The owner of the home will be charged accordingly, according to authorities.
