Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie told Megyn Kelly tonight that his strategy for Wednesday's CNN GOP debate is to be himself.

"I think if you try too hard, people see that," Christie said. "That's not what they want in a leader. What they want in a leader is somebody's who's strong and knows who they are ... and that's exactly what I'll show people on Wednesday night."

He added that he will not be afraid to speak up if he feels the need to, but he also understands that he needs to be measured because he's running for president of the United States.

He said that people want to hear about the candidates' ideas for the country, not "food fights" like what Donald Trump and Jeb Bush recently engaged in.
