A Utah woman was found alive two days after her car plummeted several hundred feet down American Fork Canyon.

Authorities say 29-year-old Heather Blackwelder was driving along State Road 92 when her car went through a guardrail and fell hundreds of feet into hidden, densely wooded terrain.

Two days later, a couple out taking photos heard the trapped woman crying for help.

Officials say Blackwelder probably wouldn’t have been found in time if the two people hadn’t gotten out of their car.

Blackwelder was seriously injured but is expected to survive.
