The NYPD is reportedly proposing the expansion of a “no vendor” zone near the 9/11 Memorial due to terrorism worries.

NBC New York reported that police want to make the “no vendor” zone two blocks bigger amid concerns that hot dog and other food carts could be used to hide explosives.

Vendors are opposed to the proposal, arguing it would hurt business.

The NYPD wouldn’t comment on the report.

The area is one of the most heavily trafficked by tourists, and the vendors also cater to office workers on their lunch breaks.
