Ben Carson Responds to Trump's Criticism of His Lack of Job Creation
Republican presidential contender Dr. Ben Carson reacted on "The Kelly File" tonight to Donald Trump's claim that as a doctor, Carson hasn't created jobs, whereas Trump has created thousands.
"I think it’s a very difficult situation that he’d be placed in,” Trump said of Carson to The Daily Caller last week. "He’s really a friend of mine, I just think it’s a very difficult situation that he puts himself into, to have a doctor who wasn’t creating jobs and would have a nurse or maybe two nurses. It’s such a different world. I’ve created tens of thousands of jobs over the years."
Carson pointed out that he has done much more in his lifetime than practice medicine, including decades of experience serving on corporate boards and starting a national nonprofit organization.
"Of all the things that I've been involved in, the one that I cherish most is being involved in saving the lives of young children, giving them not only longevity, but quality of life, changing a dark situation into a situation of light for those families," Carson said. "I think that far exceeds anything I've done in the world of business."
