Dramatic video shows a team of Maryland police officers running toward a burning car to save a driver who was trapped inside.

Officers from the Prince George’s Police Department responded to a car crash scene to find a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

“The fire extinguisher did nothing, the flames were way too intense, way too hot,” officer Nicholas Clayton recalled.

When the cops realized that the driver was still inside the car, they were just worried about getting him out, officer Jeremy Burch said.

One of the officers opened the hot door handle with his baton, and cops were able to pull the man from the car with the help of a firefighter.

The victim is being treated for serious burns and internal injuries. He is in critical condition but expected to survive.

The police department posted video of the officers’ amazing rescue on YouTube. Watch it below.
