Martha MacCallum and her son, Harry, stopped by "Cooking With Friends" this morning to show us a great and easy app idea for Labor Day Weekend, especially if you're on the coast. 

The first thing you'll need is a batch of fresh clams, but not many other ingredients, to whip up some delicious clam dip. 

Once you have the ingredients, including cream cheese and sour cream, all you need to do is mix them all up in a bowl. 

It's great on veggies and crackers, but also can be served on some warm toast all through football season.

The family has been going to Cape Cod "forever," Martha said, explaining that they're always cooking things up with fresh clams, shrimp, lobster, and other seafood.

She said the best month to eat shellfish, according to New Englanders, is in a month ending in "R."
