Authorities have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a Texas dentist.

Police say Crystal Cortez admitted her involvement in the murder of 35-year-old dentist Kendra Hatcher, who was gunned down in the parking garage of her Dallas apartment complex on Wednesday night. According to authorities, Cortez also told detectives that “other unidentified suspects may have been involved.”

Cops say that a Jeep Cherokee followed a vehicle through the gate of the parking garage at some point before Hatcher arrived. Hatcher parked her car and was then approached by a suspect, who allegedly got out of the Jeep, fired a single shot at the victim, got back in the car and left the garage, authorities say.

An arrest warrant affidavit revealed that the owner of the Jeep saw photos of his vehicle on the news and contacted police to tell them that he had loaned his car to Cortez.

Cortez then told police that she conspired with someone to drive a man to rob Hatcher. She also alleged that the male suspect then fired the shot that killed the victim.

The male suspect involved in the shooting remains at large.
