A Marine veteran is looking for the owner of the military dog tags that he found at an Oregon recycling center.

Jesse Baker found tags bearing the name William J. McKay while sorting wood piles at the West Van Materials Recovery Center back in June. He has spent months trying to find McKay or his family, to no avail.

Baker said that VA staff members believe that the tags might be from World War I or World War II.

“It just put chills in my spine to hold stuff like this,” he told KPTV.

Baker said he’d like nothing more than to find McKay or his family so that he can return the tags.

“I know I’d want mine back,” he said.

If you have information on these tags, contact KPTV reporter Kelsey Watts: Kelsey.watts@kptv.com.
