'I've Been Used to Pushing Uphill All My Life': Fiorina Left Out of CNN Debate
Why is CNN keeping Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina out of the next GOP debate?
Fiorina went "On The Record" with Greta Van Susteren tonight and explained that her surging poll numbers after the Fox News debate have not helped her cause, since CNN is using old polls to determine the top ten candidates who will participate in the debate.
"I’m in the top five in every state-wide poll ... and I'm also comfortably in the top ten in every national poll," Fiorina said. "Maybe them using all these polls before Aug. 6 is like keeping a football team out of the playoffs because of a preseason game."
She said it doesn't make sense that media companies get to decide which candidates voters hear from.
Fiorina said that she's voiced her opinion to CNN and the Republican National Committee, but she's not going to let her frustration affect her campaign.
She reminded Greta that she started as a secretary at Hewlett-Packard and rose to CEO.
"I’ve been used to pushing uphill all my life," Fiorina said. "I've been used to getting underestimated all my life, and I've been used to having the rules and the deck, perhaps, stacked more towards others than towards me."
