Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said on "Justice With Judge Jeanine" that he's surging in the polls because he tells it like it is, unlike many of his competitors, and he knows what it takes to make America great again.

Trump said that "truly stupid leadership in Washington" is preventing many Americans from living up to their vast potential.

"They're holding back this incredible energy, this incredible country," Trump said. "They're holding back this incredible, pent-up energy. And when we release it, we will be great again."

He reiterated that he knows what it takes to make the country great, and that's why he's going to win the Republican nomination.

"I think the people of the country are tired of being ripped off by politicians that don't know what they're doing."
