Forget calling out sick: a Florida nurse assistant is accused of going to great lengths to skip out on her night shift.

Police say 43-year-old Beverly F. Brooks lied about being kidnapped after she vanished mid-shift. A coworker called Brooks when she didn’t return from her break, and that’s when Brooks claimed that her boyfriend was holding her against her will. Police say the caller heard Brooks’ boyfriend James Vincent Hill Fennel Jr. say in the background that she could not get out of the car.

Officers spent hours looking for Brooks. When they finally found her, she allegedly admitted that she just didn’t want to go back to work.

Brooks and her boyfriend were charged with false report of commission of a crime.
