Sen. Jeff Sessions, who helped Donald Trump craft his immigration plan, appeared on "The Kelly File" tonight.

Sessions explained that the plan is comprised of things that politicians have promised to do for years, but have never put into action.

"We need to create an immigration system that serves the interest of the American people," Sessions stated.

He added that the plan won't require the creation of new laws as much as it will rely on the enforcement of existing ones.

"President Obama is just flat-out refusing to enforce basic law that's been on the books, sometimes for a decade," Sessions said.
