Charles Krauthammer said on "Special Report" that the media storm caused by Donald Trump is overshadowing the other Republican presidential candidates.

"You had on that stage very strong candidates. If you were to take away the glitz and the buzz and all the smoke, you would have seen the strongest field of candidates that the Republicans have had in 30 years," Krauthammer said.

Krauthammer explained that Trump is a brilliant showman and has succeeded in distracting attention away from a debate that he likely believes he lost.

"I think the GOP will rue the day because this is a great opportunity to show off the field," Krauthammer said. "I'm worried about the GOP and changing the White House a year and a half from now. And it won't happen if these good candidates are completely obscured."
