Florida authorities are trying to track down an extraordinarily heartless thief who stole an iPad from a four-year-old boy.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office said the incident occurred in a nail salon in Tamarac, near Fort Lauderdale.

The boy, Alejandro Ariza, was sitting in the salon where his mother works, watching cartoons on the iPad.

Video of the incident (below) shows the suspect, described as a 5-foot-6 teenage male with a thin build, committing the brazen theft.

The suspect asked an employee if his mother was in the salon, then snatched the iPad from the boy when the employee turned her head.

Meantime, the story actually has a happy ending. According to WSVN, former Olympic gold medal-winning boxer Howard Davis Jr. heard what happened and brought Ariza a new iPad.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to call 954-493-TIPS.
