A new TLC show spotlights incredible stories of divine intervention.

Roma Downey, host of “Answered Prayers,” explained on “Fox and Friends” that the series showcases people in dire straits who reached out to God for help. Sure enough, help arrived.

“Prayer is something that can be used in your life to give you directions, like it can be your steering wheel or it can be your spare tire,” Downey said. “But if you choose to make it your steering wheel, it can really give you great direction in your life.”

“Answered Prayers” premieres Sunday at 10p ET on TLC.
