Incredible video shows the moment a California family escapes a raging brush fire, seconds before it consumes a major highway near Los Angeles.

The fast-moving fire destroyed 20 vehicles, burned at least four structures and prompted mandatory evacuations.

Gabrielle and Stephen Mrocheck, along with their sons, Garrett and Sean, appeared on "Fox and Friends Weekend" this morning to share their harrowing story.

"I was just wondering how many more cars they were going to let through before the fire did consume the southbound 15 [freeway]," Stephen said.

Gabrielle, who shot the video on her phone, said that they could feel the heat from the fire inside their vehicle as they drove by.

"The wind shifted as we were driving down the hill, as we were passing it," Gabrielle said. "That's when the flames got so large because it shifted towards our vehicle ... You could see the flames and the smoke over the top of our cars."
