The death toll has tragically risen in the Chattanooga, Tenn., shooting.

The Navy confirmed Saturday that Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith has succumbed to his injuries.

Smith, 24, was shot three times when Mohammod Youssef Abdulazeez opened fire at the Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC) Thursday morning.

Smith, a reservist serving on active duty as a logistics specialist, underwent several surgeries and died early Saturday morning after sustaining extensive damage to his liver and colon.

His wife and other family members were with him at the hospital when he passed away. In addition to his wife, Smith leaves behind three young daughters.

This brings the death toll in the tragic shooting to five.

Four Marines, Gunnery Sgt. Thomas J. Sullivan, Staff Sgt. David A. Wyatt, Sgt. Carson A. Holmquist and Lance Cpl. Squire K. "Skip" Wells, were also killed in the attack.
