Woman Held at Knifepoint in ISIS-Style Attack at Rome's Colosseum
A 26-year-old Italian woman was forced to her knees at knifepoint in a horrifying ISIS-style attack at Rome’s Colosseum, police say.
Authorities say a 33-year-old Brazilian man held a knife to 26-year-old Chiara Frisco’s throat and forced her to her knees.
Witnesses say that the man shouted “Allah is great” and “it is God that sends me” as he held Frisco hostage. They say the shocking scene looked just like an ISIS execution video, and one witness said all that was missing was the prisoner’s orange jumpsuit.
Police kicked the man to the ground, causing him to drop his knife. The crazed man fled, but was quickly arrested by police.
Frisco, who wasn't hurt in the attack, said that she couldn’t see the knife but could feel its blade against her neck.
The man has been charged with attempted murder and resisting arrest. No direct connection to ISIS has been confirmed.
