In addition to his surging poll numbers, Donald Trump has 10 billion reasons to be happy.

Fox News has learned that the Republican presidential candidate is preparing to officially file with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

Eric Shawn reported on "The Real Story" that the numbers show that Trump is even richer than he said he was when he announced his candidacy last month, when he claimed to be worth nearly $9 billion.

"The Trump estimates, we are told, show that he is worth more than $10 billion," Shawn reported. "Mr. Trump's income last year, we are learning, is $362 million. That does not include dividends, interest, capital gains, rent or royalties."

Shawn added that 40 of the 45 stocks Trump bought last year have gone up, earning him more than $27 million.

The FEC paperwork will show that Trump is far and away the richest candidate in the presidential race.
