Two Alaskan fishermen had a close encounter with a large pod of humpback whales and it was all caught on camera.

Brad Rich and Tony Flanders were heading to their favorite fishing spot in Resurrection Bay on Sunday, when they spotted the whales off in the distance.

Video footage shows the large pod of majestic mammals forming a circle and then breaching the surface in unison near the boat's stern.

“I was just in awe,” Rich told KTVA. ”I knew that humpbacks do this group feeding. So I knew what was happening as soon as it happened. But to be in the middle of that, to actually experience that as to just watching it, it was the most awe-inspiring thing, it’s the most amazing thing to have ever happened to me.”
