Here’s a scary reminder to always “mind the gap” when taking the Long Island Rail Road.

The LIRR says a 65-year-old woman yesterday lost her balance and slipped 6 feet down onto the train tracks during rush hour traffic in Great Neck, N.Y.

Witnesses snapped photos of the woman wedged between the platform and the train.

Crews had to pass the woman under the car to get her out. The rescue took more than a half hour, during which service was suspended on the train branch.

The woman suffered some bumps and bruises, but is OK.
