A soldier returning home got off the plane to complete a romantic mission.

Misty Kennedy thought she was at the Sacramento International Airport to welcome home her boyfriend, Sergeant Tony Vance, who was deployed for six months in South Korea.

However, once random passengers started handing her roses, she knew she was in for a special surprise.

Vance, who has served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, delivered the final rose to Kennedy. The soldier got down on one knee and popped the question with an engagement ring in hand.

Kennedy said yes in front of a huge crowd that cheered for the couple.

"[I'm] overwhelmed, excited, this is more than I could have ever imagined," Kennedy told KXTV.

The two lovebirds plan on getting married July 4th, before Vance heads back to South Korea.

"I've been looking forward to it for quite some time," he told KXTV. "It's going to be awesome."
