Bernie Goldberg said tonight on "The O'Reilly Factor" that the word "racist" is now meaningless, thanks to the left.

Goldberg said that liberals bash America as a racist country to feel better about themselves.

"That way, they can say, 'We're for the underdog. We're fighting white oppression or white privilege or, now, white supremacy,'" Goldberg stated.

"Progressives amuse me, because they don't progress. They're stuck in the past. This is not the same America as we were in 1965. That was 50 years ago. We have changed for the better. And we have changed a whole lot."

O'Reilly suggested that the far-left labeling the U.S. as a racist country is a political move to mobilize their base and overwhelm the truth with propaganda.

"The real pity in all of this is that liberals, who were at the forefront of civil rights, have turned the word 'racist' into a meaningless word," Goldberg said. "Once upon a time, it was a serious indictment ... Now, it's mush, thanks to the left."
