A New Jersey family’s dream home turned nightmarish when they began to receive threatening notes from someone called “The Watcher.”

A couple bought the $1.3 million Westfield home back in June 2014. Just three days later, the letters began.

One letter read, “Why are you here? I will find out.”

Another said, “I am pleased to know your names and the names now of the young blood you have brought to me.”

The messages scared the new owners so much that they never moved into the house. News stories about the threatening letters have also scared away potential buyers.

The couple is now suing the previous homeowners for withholding knowledge about “The Watcher" letters. The prior owners also received a letter from “The Watcher” days before closing, but they didn’t tell the current owners about it.

According to NJ.com, the case raises legal questions because there is no specific clause in state law requiring a seller to disclose an issue of this nature.
