A 6-year-old girl’s meeting with the Queen was a bit overshadowed by a nearby soldier’s salute gone awry.

Maisie, 6, presented Queen Elizabeth with a bouquet of flowers during her visit to Cardiff, Wales. The 89-year-old queen reportedly called Maisie pretty, told her, “God bless you,” and made her way out of the room.

A soldier’s salute to the exiting queen had hilarious consequences for little Maisie, who was standing beside him. While saluting the queen, he accidentally smacked Maisie in the head, knocking off her hat.

Maisie’s mom says she’s fine and just “got a shock” from the incident.
