Video has surfaced in recent days showing Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby on a 2000 episode of "Judge Judy."

Mosby, who decided to bring criminal charges against six police officers in the death of Freddie Gray, went before the famous TV judge as a 20-year-old Tuskegee University student.

A spokeswoman at Mosby's office confirmed to the Baltimore Sun that Mosby did appear on that show.

The dispute pitted Mosby, then Marilyn James, against a roommate, who she said trashed the house while she was on summer break. Judge Judy agreed with her, awarding her $1,700 in damages.

After the show, Mosby complained that the police in the area were of little help to her.

"I tried to speak to the D.A. I spoke to police officers. Judge Judy ... she finally gave me justice."
