A Philadelphia girl got the surprise of her life when her Army father showed up at her school Friday for an unexpected reunion.

Due to his role as a Flight Operations Specialist in the U.S. Army based out of Jacksonville, Florida, Trent Shoemaker only gets to see his 9-year-old daughter, Zolei, every few months.

Shoemaker made sure that this Memorial Day Weekend reunion, however, would be one for Zolei to remember, surprising her as she was leaving Joseph H. Brown Elementary.

Luckily, Shoemaker's girlfriend, Jennie Mojica, was there with a camera rolling to capture the touching moment.

"Daddy!" Zolei yells and jumps into her father's arms.

They embrace as tears of joy fall down the little girl's face.

"I was really excited because I miss him," Zolei said. "I miss him when he’s away, but I’m proud of him."
