Police: 9 Men, Aged 48 to 76, Arrested in $300M Jewel Heist
British police say they’ve nabbed nine suspects in a brazen Easter weekend jewel heist.
The average age of the nine suspects is 60, with the men ranging in age from 48 to 76 years old.
Authorities say the nine men made off with $300 million in jewels and cash. They allegedly rappelled down elevator shafts, drilled through 6 feet of concrete and then spent 48 hours looting the vault.
They were arrested Tuesday morning when more than 200 police raided 12 addresses in north London and Kent.
Police said bags containing a significant amount of high-value property were recovered at ones of the addresses.
Police say they’re confident most of the stolen property has been recovered.
