A police officer's body camera captured the horrifying moment a fleeing suspect dragged him with his car.

According to police, the officer was responding to a shoplifting call when he spotted a possible suspect in another unsolved crime.

The police officer instructed Brandon Christopher Adams to take the keys out of the car's ignition.

The 23-year-old refused his commands. When the officer tried to pull the keys out of the ignition, Adams hit the gas pedal, dragging the officer with him as he fled.

The officer was quickly tossed from the car and rolled away in order to avoid getting run over.

Adams turned himself into police Thursday. He has been charged with aggravated assault and felony obstruction of an officer.

Luckily, the officer only suffered minor injuries.
