A Massachusetts father called 911 after he left his baby in his car.

The unidentified man said his 1-year-old daughter fell asleep, and he forgot to drop her off at day care. Instead, he accidentally left her in the back of the car at a Boston MBTA station and didn’t realize until he was almost at work.

The father’s panicked admission can be heard in 911 audio.

“I left, by accident, my toddler in my SUV at the North Quincy station,” he told the dispatcher.

“You left what?” the dispatcher asked.

“My little baby,” he said.

The dad said in a statement, “The baby had fallen asleep in the child seat, and I went into autopilot. I had what I thought was a safeguard procedure against this in place that I neglected to use today. Obviously, we will be doing more to prevent this going forward.”

Emergency responders arrived quickly, and luckily, the baby was OK.
