A teenage boy was critically injured when he was struck by lightning Friday afternoon in Aurora, Colorado, according to authorities.

The boy and his two friends were reportedly walking through a field when a storm rolled through. Moments later, the teen was struck.

His friends flagged down a driver for help. 911 calls indicated that the boy was unconscious and not breathing.

"I jumped out of my car. He was on his cell phone, already called 911," Good Samaritan John Brisnehan said. "We turned him over and I started performing CPR on him."

The teen was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
