Former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney said on "Hannity" tonight that people are having a hard time trusting Hillary Clinton.

Romney said that he thinks it is a real issue when the secretary of state has a "backdoor way for various people and for governments to make contributions to things she’s interested in."

"Whether that’s her husband’s interests or whether that’s her foundation, this is a real problem and I think people are having a hard time trusting Hillary Clinton," Romney said.

"The idea she would erase the messages on her server only suggests there are things there that she didn’t want people to see," Romney stated. "We won’t know what those things are, of course, because she’s erased them. I think this is a real challenge for her."

He added that the trust gap between the American people and Clinton is only getting worse.
