The friend of a U.S. Marine jailed in Iran tonight slammed the administration for not doing enough to bring the imprisoned veteran home.

Amir Hekmati has been jailed in Iran for three-and-a-half years for espionage, although his family says he was only in Iran to visit his grandmother.

Hekmati’s friend, Sgt. Gabriel Justice, called the past three-and-a-half years some of the most painful of his life.

“Amir is not just a U.S. citizen, he’s my warrior brother, a United States Marine,” Justice said. “I am absolutely appalled, and I am disgusted with our president for his lack of effort in getting him back.”

Justice charged Obama with turning his back on the veteran, and he slammed Obama’s “accomplice,” Secretary of State John Kerry, for “playing footsie with Iran” while Hekmati is tortured in prison.
