Fans of the late comedienne Lucille Ball have launched an online campaign to get rid of a statue that was made in her honor.

They say that the life-size bronze statue, which went up six years ago in Ball's hometown of Celoron, New York, is scary, ugly and looks nothing like the "I Love Lucy" star.

A Facebook page dedicated to the removal of the statue says, "The people of Celoron have erected this horrible statue of Lucy in her hometown. It is a nightmare. We want them to replace it."

Facebook users have commented that it resembles a "Walking Dead" zombie, the worm from "Beetlejuice" or Steve Buscemi, among many others.

They want the statue replaced with a new one, and they want the artist who created it to do it for free.

The artist, however, has said it will cost $10,000 to recast the statue, leaving them at an impasse.
