The second part of Megyn Kelly's interview with former Scientologist Mike Rinder, on whom an HBO documentary is based, aired on 'The Kelly File' tonight, and The Church of Scientology responded with a message to the show's viewers.

Alex Gibney’s film is bigoted propaganda built on falsehoods invented by admitted liars who remain bitter after having been removed in disgrace and expelled a decade ago after they secretly conspired to suborn perjury and obstruct justice. They cannot be trusted, and no statements they make can be believed. In two hours this film racks up more falsehoods, errors, embellished tales and blatant omissions than were committed by Rolling Stone and Brian Williams combined. By our calculation, the film on average includes at least one major error every two minutes. Mr. Gibney never even sent one fact to the Church to check and he never answered over 40 communications from the Church requesting allegations in the film and offering to provide information.  He shunned 25 people who traveled to New York to meet with him with relevant answers to every single allegation that is in the film.  These individuals included the children, former spouses, superiors and colleagues who worked for years alongside his sources.  Because Mr. Gibney has been anything but objective—in fact working to silence the Church, the Church has compiled the unvarnished truth in the form of video footage, court documents, publicly available records and testimonials by pertinent individuals who do represent Scientology, and were intentionally ignored by Mr. Gibney and HBO. The real story is available and it includes that the Church of Scientology has been experiencing a glorious renaissance over the last decade.  For more information on Scientology and the millions of people around the globe who benefit from its indiscriminate help, please tell your listeners to visit scientology.org.
