Attention history and Wild West buffs: mark your calendars and set your DVRs.

Fox News Channel is set to premiere a 10-week series that will unearth the truth behind the legends of the American West.

Doc Holliday, Jesse James, Davy Crockett and many more. What’s the real story behind 10 of America’s most famous outlaws, pioneers, robbers and mountain men?

Based on first-hand accounts from direct descendants and historians, the show will present brilliant cinematic re-creations set against stunning Western landscapes.

“We are thrilled to present our viewers with insight that defined the West’s past and pay tribute to some of the most notorious American trailblazers,” said Fox News Senior Executive Vice President Bill Shine.

Don’t miss "Legends & Lies: The Real West," premiering Sunday, April 12 at 8p ET with back-to-back hour-long episodes.

At 8p ET, it's the story of perhaps America's most notorious outlaw: Jesse James. "The Real West" separates the fact from the fiction behind James and his gang of thieves.

Then at 9p ET, relive the amazing escapades of the dentist/gambler/gunfighter Doc Holliday. How'd the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral really go down?

In the following weeks, tune in each Sunday night at 8p ET on Fox News Channel for eight more true stories of the West.
