A 12-year-old Massachusetts boy and a quick-thinking dispatcher helped police catch an alleged burglar through a silent phone code.

Luke Fournier, 12, called 911 when he saw a man walking around his yard, knocking on the door and ringing the bell. The 911 dispatcher asked Luke questions and had him press 1 to indicate “yes” and 2 to say “no.”

Authorities arrived shortly thereafter, but the suspect was gone. Police caught up with the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Richard Poirier, minutes later.

Poirier was arrested and charged with destructing property, attempting to commit a crime, and possession of burglarious instruments. He was also charged in connection with another local break-in.
