City Council Won't Ban Drinking on Beach After Fla. Spring Break Shooting
Seven people were injured – three critically – in a shooting Saturday in Panama City Beach, Fla.
The shooting happened just one day after Sean Hannity wrapped up a week-long special on the dangers of spring break.
Authorities have charged 22-year-old David Jamichael Daniels, of Mobile, Ala., with seven counts of attempted murder.
The Panama City Beach City Council held an emergency meeting after the shooting to vote on three ordinances. They passed a motion to allocate an additional $200,000 for beach enforcement and to allow that funding to come from the Tourist Development Council’s budget. But a motion to ban alcohol on the beach through mid-April failed to pass.
Panama City Beach Councilman Keith Curry told Sean Hannity that it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.
“The blood of those children [is] on our hands,” he said.
