Peters: 'Tone Deaf' Admin Has 'Disdain' for the Military
Lt. Col. Ralph Peters tonight slammed a “tone deaf” administration for its decision to swap five Guantanamo Bay detainees for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who has since been charged with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy.
“His desertion led to far more American deaths and wounding than you’ve heard so far,” Peters told Eric Bolling.
Peters said he’s furious at the “American left” for protecting the White House and for declaring that Bergdahl has suffered enough.
“Listen, Bowe Bergdahl came home, he’s in good health, he’s got four limbs, he’s got 10 toes, he’s got 10 fingers, he’s functional on a day-to-day basis,” Peters said. “Where is the left’s sympathy? Where is the media’s sympathy for the soldiers that didn’t come home, for their families?”
Peters charged President Barack Obama’s inner circle with having disdain for the military and viewing military members as “too stupid to do anything else.”
“We’re about pickup trucks and beer and guns and God and all that nasty stuff,” Peters said.
Peters called the administration “tone deaf” for thinking that the Army would celebrate Bergdahl’s return following the swap.
“They just don’t understand a military that believes in stupid, old-fashioned concepts like integrity and honor and duty and country and patriotism,” Peters said. “It’s beyond the canon of team Obama.”
