Dramatic body camera footage shows the moment Florida sheriff's deputies pull a woman from a burning home.

Pasco County Sheriff's Deputy James Collins' body cam captured he and other officers responding to a house fire early Monday morning in Holiday, Florida, just outside Tampa.

The footage shows Collins enter the front door crawling on the ground to attempt to rescue a 51-year-old female victim trapped inside, but the suffocating smoke is too thick for him to proceed.

He then begins breaking a window to try to get the woman. Seconds later, his fellow deputies smash an adjacent window and pull her to safety.

The woman and her 88-year-old mother were unhurt in the blaze.

"I was just trying to find her,” Collins told Bay News 9. “I mean, afterwards I can tell you then I started thinking about [how] chaotic it may have been to go in to a house full of smoke, but like I said at that point I was just trying to get her out."

Collins, a former Marine who has only been a deputy for two weeks, was treated for smoke inhalation, but he's already back on the job.
