Bill O’Reilly tonight called on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to ask the FBI to examine her private server.

Clinton is under fire for deleting some emails that she says were private, though she won’t let the government validate that claim by looking at her server.

O’Reilly said that this allows her critics to charge her with covering something up.

“Hillary Clinton should immediately request that the FBI examine her server with the assurance that all private deleted emails would remain private,” he said.

If the feds don’t look at Clinton’s server, “The Factor” host said that any public official could claim private correspondence without scrutiny.

“At this point, it would be grossly unfair to accuse Hillary Clinton of anything other than bad judgment,” he said. “But it should not be up to her or any public official to delete emails while on the job.”

O’Reilly recalled how Richard Nixon tried a similar tactic with tapes back in the Watergate days. He stressed that he was not comparing Clinton and Nixon, just saying that the public can’t simply accept Clinton’s word on this.
