A buffalo was caught on camera charging into a parked SUV inside Yellowstone National Park.

In the video, which has been viewed more than 300,000 times and counting, the huge animal is coming straight for Tom Carter's Nissan Xterra on Feb. 26.

"Don't run into our car," Carter said while sitting in the SUV with a friend. The seemingly agitated buffalo didn't take his advice and charged head first into the front of the vehicle.

USA Today reported:

Carter, 60, of Dallas, who was a tour guide at Yellowstone in the 1970s and since has spent significant time hiking in the area, saw the animals approaching at about 300 yards away.

"I really thought they were just going to run right by. After he rammed us, the other two just stopped," Carter told USA TODAY Network. "I just happened to be in the right place at the wrong time."

Damage to the car, which is owned by friend Suzie Hollingsworth, totaled about $2,788, according to AAA estimates, Carter said.

"Not only was it unusual to happen," Carter added. "It was a dead run."

After the encounter the buffalo walked along the passenger's side of the vehicle "and continued on his way."

Luckily, the SUV's engine wasn't running or more damage would have been caused due to the air bag deploying.
