Peter Johnson Jr. weighed in on "Fox and Friends" today about the guilty verdict handed down to Eddie Ray Routh in the murders of former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield.

"I thought the [verdict] might come in even a little quicker given the testimony we heard in the case," Johnson said. "I thought on a lot of counts, that the defense counsel didn't make the point they needed to make in terms of insanity. The point was, the defendant had in fact suffered from delusions in the past."

He said that the defense should have provided more witnesses, such as doctors, to talk about "the fact that they believe he is insane."

"The jury has spoken...do your time, go to jail, you've killed a great, great American hero," Johnson said.
