Jurors Watch Confession Video in Day 4 of 'American Sniper' Trial
Jurors today watched Eddie Ray Routh’s chilling confession video in day four of the “American Sniper” trial.
The video reportedly reveals a chilling admission made over the course of one-and-a-half hours in February 2013.
Judge Alex Ferrer joined Megyn Kelly tonight to discuss how the footage could be used.
Ferrer said that the prosecution will use parts of the video to argue that Routh knew right from wrong, which would invalidate an insanity plea. Meanwhile, he said the defense attorney will point to Routh’s rambling, incoherent statements and dazed demeanor to argue that he was insane when he shot Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield.
“If I did not take down his soul, he was going to take down mine,” Routh reportedly said of Kyle in the confession tape.
