Two Florida sheriff’s deputies risked their own lives to pull a man from a burning car on Christmas Day (watch below).

Body camera footage released by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office shows Deputies Joseph Trimboli and Eric Keyes pulling an unresponsive 45-year-old man from his wrecked SUV as flames spread.

The New York Daily News reported:

The two deputies arrived to the scene of a crash on Main St. in Destin, Fla. at 2:56 a.m. on Dec. 25 to find the incoherent motorist sitting behind the wheel of the scorching vehicle with the doors locked, authorities said.

With flames spreading from the back of the car, Keyes smashed the window open with his flashlight. The two officers then pulled the man - a native of Brandon, Fla. whose name was not released - from the blaze, a release from the sheriff’s office says.

The man was treated for burns and is expected to be OK.

Both deputies were awarded with Medals of Merit for their heroic actions.
