Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) tonight spoke to Greta Van Susteren about President Barack Obama’s plan to formally ask Congress for authorization of force to take on ISIS.

DeSantis said he’s hearing that Obama may ask Congress for an authorization to limit the ability to use ground troops to fight ISIS. He called this possible move “a mistake,” asking why the U.S. would telegraph that to the enemy.

The congressman said that Obama should ask Congress to authorize the use of necessary force, but he is not required to use it.

DeSantis said that Obama is asking for authorization of force so that Congress can share the blame if the fight against ISIS isn’t successful.
