9-Year-Old Girl Scout Shot While Selling Cookies in Indiana
Police say that a 9-year-old girl was shot in the leg Tuesday while selling Girl Scout cookies in Indiana.
Sinai Miller was with her younger sister when they left their apartment to go pick up cookies to sell. As they were leaving, a blue Ford Expedition drove up and someone inside the vehicle started shooting at their apartment complex.
“I heard three gunshots and then one of them hit me in the leg,” Sinai told WTTV.
The girls' mother, Shanita Miller, was inside the apartment when she heard the shots.
“She came in screaming, ‘Mommy, mommy. It hurt. It hurt.’ And I’m like what hurt? What’s wrong?" Shanita Miller told WTTV. "So when I pulled her pant leg up, that’s when I discovered she was shot."
The stray bullet didn't strike any bone or artery in Sinai, and she is recovering at home.
Police are still searching for suspects and ask that anyone with information call the local Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
