An actor who starred on the "Power Rangers" TV series was arrested by authorities on suspicion of murdering his roommate with a sword.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials said Ricardo Medina, Jr., 36, was being held on $1 million bail in connection with the stabbing death of Joshua Sutter, also 36, at an apartment they shared in Palmdale, California, on Saturday.

Officials said that Medina and Sutter got into an argument that escalated into a fight. Medina went into his bedroom with his girlfriend and locked the door. After Sutter reportedly forced the door open, Medina picked up a sword that he kept in his room and stabbed Sutter once in the abdomen.

Officials said that Medina called 911 and waited for first responders to arrive. Sutter was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.

Medina is due in court Tuesday.

Medina played the Red Lion Wild Force Ranger in the "Power Rangers Wild Force" series in 2002, and also voiced the character Deker for a TV series and a video game for "Power Rangers Samurai."
