One unlucky man’s lottery ticket matched a $21 million jackpot, but he won’t be getting a dime.

There was just one problem with Joel Ifergan's “winning” ticket – the lottery computer printed it seven seconds too late.

Ifergan says he bought the tickets just before the 9 p.m. cutoff. His first lotto ticket printed at 8:59 p.m., but the second ticket with the winning numbers printed seven seconds after 9 p.m.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court of Canada dismissed the appeal, which means Ifergan will not be eligible for any of the $21 million (27 million Canadian dollars).

The ticket instead became eligible for the following week’s drawing.
